This excerpt was taken from Jane Austen:Obstinate Heart by Valerie Grosvenor Myer, referring to Jane's brother and his son:
"Edward's fourth son, William, born 1798, was busy embroidering a footstool. Jane was sure his grandmamma would value it very much as a proof of his affection and industry...She longed to know what colors the ten-year-old boy was using."
