] We would also need to know the weight of the cart and the weight of the horse(s) and how many pounds per square inch of pressure a hoof would put on a given blade of grass as compared to a wheel.....


And also what kind of vehicles use the road... heavy freight wagons and cross-country coaches, or lightweight pleasure vehicles; how many horses pull them; and don't forget the time of year....

Sometimes you really can start splitting hairs a little to finely...
