Women going to sea

Some time ago there were posts here asking about women going to sea with their husbands. I think it must have started with the ending of the Persuasion film. Anyway, I recently read a review of a book about this. The title is "Hen Frigates: Wives of Merchant Captains Under Sail" by Joan Druett (Simon & Schuster). It sounds fascinating. Apparently some wives were taught navigation becuase they were the only ones who could do it. Many kept copious journals, the souce for much of the author's work.
