... is very specific: the moment in S&S where Emma Thompson writes with her left hand! No!!!! She wouldn't have been allowed to do that! It gets me every time... And one of my friends finds the windows in the "cottage" at Barton too modern, which is exactly what I feel about the ones at Lyme in Persuasion.
I think it's whatever you know is wrong that's irritating - you think, 'if I could find that out, why couldn't they?'.
