Sorry, Patricia, I didn't mean your opinions about JA and feminism....which I happen to agree with entirely! I meant that it is difficult to find anything written by those who do set out to prove she was a feminist which compares her to anyone but Mary W. This tiny reference to Fordyce is a case in point. Since he wrote on the status of women, and since JA must have read him, would it not be logical for somone to have made a decent comparison of what was said by both of them?
