] A theater lighting designer or a color theorist would tell you that yellow and blue cancel eachother and make white. They are complimentary colors. This is the same theory by which blue-haired ladies came about. By using a bluing agent on white hair, it removes the look of yellowness. Some people are less careful than others and use too much resulting in blue hair.

Same thing with using ektochrome film indoors or a type B filter, to balance the yellow of incandescent bulbs. Similarly, HC recently "blued" up the MP illustrations we found to compensate for the yellowed pages.
