Have you read "The Secret Garden " by Frances Hodgeson Burnett, Constanza? In this you'll see that the servant class uses them all the time, and have great fun teaching Mary, the heroine, how to "shape a bit o' Yorkshire"( speak the dialect.)
It's also used in some dialects in the southwest of England (including Cornwall! ;-) ), but it's getting very rare to hear it in everyday speech.
