I am currently reading "Jane Austen: Obstinate Heart" by Valerie Grosvenor myer. On page 3, 2nd paragraph, the author is talking about some of the crime and violence and she mentions that.."In 1813 seventeen machine-breakers were
publicly executed at York."
What is a machine-breaker?
