To L and T indexAha! My problem was that I was enclosing the variable information in angle brackets (according to the usage I have established on my Titles site), and this bbs software interprets angle brackets (very sensibly, I might add), as being html code, and so my messages were a little garbled. My apologies.

Here are the correct answers, with the variables in {} instead of angle brackets.

] What is the youngest son (second son) of an earl called?

He is The Honourable {Firstname}{Surname}. (NOT his father's title!). He is addressed, however, as Mr {Firstname}{Surname} or simply Mr {Surname}.

]Is an earl called Lord?

Yes. All peers except dukes are called Lord {Title}.

Wives of baronets are addressed as "Lady {Husband'sSurname}."

Sorry for the confusion.
