In response to Does anyone know any Regency Dances?, written by Katherine on June 13, 1998 at 03:04:12

To L and T index ] I'm having a 'Pride and Prejudice' theme dinner party, and I really need to know instructions for some Regency dancing. Does anyone know any, or any sites on the net where I could find them?

I'd second the suggestion to check out the Country Song & Dance Society's webpage. They sell books on dancing (including Playford!) and tapes/CDs of music.

This is an online English country dance manual

and
http://renstore.com/index.shtml
This is the URL for Chivalry Sports which sells an audio tape/book set called the _Rose and Nefr Handbook_ which includes many English country dances including Hole in the Wall which was danced in one of the Emma films (I believe the Kate Beckinsale version). I've used these tapes for dancing often. Most of them have a fairly good tempo. Note: this book isn't all English country dancing. Didn't want to mislead you. It does however contain several from Playford.
