In addition to the ones already mentioned, and I'd agree Spanish Bride and An Infamous Army are 'dramatised history' rather than historical fiction, two others which fall into this category are

1 Royal Escape (English Civil War - 17th century)
2 My Lord John (later medieval England/France)

One of my favourite novels which gives a fair bit of information on costume, morals etc. is These Old Shades. It's a really good novel
and I think it gives a good idea of 18th century France, more than most of the Regency-set novels do 19th century England. (But they're still a good read)
