Thank you for your pointers. I'm starting to get an idea of where this course will head... don't worry: I'm still looking forward to it.
BTW, I have introduced myself on the Newcomers board... last July, I think. I asked a question about the Carl Davis CD (which I have since bought), and expressed a hope that the Republic would finally get my mother to try her hand at web-surfing. Alas, she hasn't, although I did convince her to sit down and read Arnessa's Sequel Plot. I stop back every once and a while to browse through Bits of Ivory (you all keep changing the name on me!), and keep to myself, since I know much less than everyone else.
