Comparing British and US weather

Regarding the question on the differences between waether in the US and the UK that was posed further down the page. I post on a Gardening Board called "Up the Garden Path". It's for gardeners in the US and the UK to discuss gardening. Most of the people who frequent the board live in the US now , but lived most of their lives in England. Weather is discussed quite frequently.
Of all of them those who live in the Pacific NW, especially Washington State say the weather and climate there is as close to that of England as you can get.
