Is OED site available to the general public?

To L and T index ] THanks for the lead Linden and it is on the internet. I happened to have scheduled time for the library the very day after your first post. And to my delight, I was shown not only the printed volumes, but then was helped to find the access through Netscape on the library's computer. I could call them to find out the website if you that would be helpful.

I'd be interested to know which site you used. When I visited the OED site (linked below) they have a prototype version they are testing but it is not open to the general public (they ask you to type in a password). It may be that libraries have access however.

Wouldn't it be great if we could all have access? : )
