Pigs in the garden

I've heard on a number of occasions that when in P&P Elizabeth, in referring to the commotion attending Miss de Bourgh's arrival, says, "I expected at least that the pigs were got into the garden," that it's a reference to an old bawdy joke. Can anyone enlighten me about what the joke actually is?
