To L and T index....Greys can be any color mixed with a lot of white, at least according to my horse-riding friend Boots! Lord Peter Wimsey, in a short story says that his mother (the Dowager Duchess of Denver) rather fancies greys "Sports a carriage and pay-ah, don't you know?" meaning a carriage and pair of white dappled horses, very elegant looking. He was detecting at the time, so it might be a lie about his mother, but it was probably very fashionable all the same to drive greys.
