To L and T index ] Some of you have seen this before, but I find it so interesting, and so relevant to Ken's post, I felt the urge to post it again.If you like it, thank Myretta, as she's the one who brought it to my attention in the first place.


The bit about apple blossoms was very good. Still, you don't get the sense from Austen that things were unusually cold, by modern standards. And you probably wouldn't hear much about global warming in contemporary novels, unless that happened to be the point of, or relevant to, the storyline. It would just be part of the story lying around loose, so to speak (-:
