Same here...it seems like every sentence he writes is hysterically funny. I did not care for his book about traveling in the US, though. I think it just didn't come off too well....he seemed to be trying too hard to be funny about some of our national quirks, but it wasn't subtle, and it seems it has been said better by other writers. I felt like he just kept saying, "this place is so much more boring than I remember it.." Not that I have any problem with humorous writing about the US, but that book just fell flat for me. Maybe I sensed that same unkindness you speak of, Lesley..
