In response to Waterloo strategy games..., written by P. Bingham on May 21, 1998 at 00:33:57

To L and T index ] I saw in the computer store two Napoleonic War Strategy Games, one Waterloo, and the other two more Napoleonic battles (before Waterloo of course! I forgot which ones.) They are part of an award winning historical battle series. The company that makes it is Broderbund. I wrote down all the information but I think my daughter ate the paper (really!). One was 19.95 and the other 16.95. I saw them at Fry's in Southern California. They seemed impressive so I thought to share it.

QB was the battle the day before Waterloo. Ney actually commanded the attack, and was uncharacteristically sluggish, so it was a victory, but not overwhelmingly so, for the French. (Now, if Davout had been there, instead of keeping Paris loyal. . . .) The 3 days of Waterloo lends itself to several different games & scenarios, and I have seen a lot of them on this battle (although the winter/spring 1814 campaign is infinitely more interesting). If the series is the one I think you are thinking of, it has garnered good reviews overall.
