The equivalent of the phone directory?

Thanks for that posting.
I know when I'm stuck for a name for a character, I reach for my phone directory, so maybe JA did something similar.
It's cleared up a puzzle in my mind (and probably that of many Australian Austenians) about the real person in Oz history called D'arcy Wentworth, pretty much a contemporay of JA's. It is just a co-incidence.
