] I found one finally!!! I'm going to be studying abroad at Oxford next year, and plan on going to the P&P benefit ball, so I need a dress...

Does anyone else secretly (or perhaps not-so-secretly) wish that we still dressed this way today? I know it's the Idealistic Romantic in me, but to my mind, the Regency dress style is the loveliest, most utterly feminine style of all history. (See Constanza's scanned-in photo below!)

Of course, it has its detractors. Almost every one of my friends who has seen P&P2, while loving the adaptation, were less than enamored of the costumes. Naturally, we have entered into some good-natured, albeit heated, debates over this issue!
