In response to Pamflets by way of advertisement, written by Chrissie on May 01, 1998 at 19:59:35

To L and T index ] I need some information for a story I am writing on the Fan Fic board. I wondered how advertisements were made in the Regency. By paper, of course, but I also wondered if people couldn't print pamflets that were sent round. (in this case, it is an art-master from London who looks for students) Can anybody help me with this? Please e-mail me if you know something.

] Chrissie

My gut feeling says that this wouldn't have happened, as his potential customers would not approve of 'touting for business'. Paper was relatively expensive in those days, too. I can't give you any particular reason for this though. Better stick to the newspaper !
