] Just the thought of trotting while sitting in that gives me the heebie-jeebies (much less cantering & jumping!)
I rode with a proper sidesaddle once and the most problem I had was using the whip and leg at the same time to make the horse go, you have to be coordinated in my opinion.
However while I did not jump while riding sidesaddle my instructor had us jumping with no stirrups last lesson which appears to me to be just as bad.
Also remember these ladies would have grown up riding sidesaddle and so have been always acustomed to it. Perhaps the saddle you gegin in is the easiest!
