Pamflets by way of advertisement

I need some information for a story I am writing on the Fan Fic board. I wondered how advertisements were made in the Regency. By paper, of course, but I also wondered if people couldn't print pamflets that were sent round. (in this case, it is an art-master from London who looks for students) Can anybody help me with this? Please e-mail me if you know something.
