In response to Short hair during the regency?, written by Cath W on April 30, 1998 at 17:11:03
] I've been looking at the links to the regency period and read that some women wore short hair. Does anyone know how short and during what years this was a fashion trend? Does anyone know if their are any pictures anywhere?
Lady Caroline Lamb wore her hair in a "page boy" style-- cropped close to the head and feathered all over-- she was trying for the sprite look. She even had her portrait painted dressed as a page boy in 1813.
I don't know if it would be fair to say that she popularized the hairstyle.
