I came across this book a little while ago and promptly forgot absolutely everything about it except its existence. You've saved me from going into my local library and saying, "There's this wonderful book that's going to clear up all my misconceptions about women's status in Jane Austen's England but I can't remember a thing about it - can you order it for me?"
