] Reading something about weddings on the Emma board prompted me to think about funerals.... The clergyman would have read the service from the Book of Common Prayer, I think part of it would have been done in the church and part at the graveside. Women didn't attend funerals then, I think the fact that Queen Victoria was not allowed to be at her mother's funeral several years later has already been mentioned hereabouts.
