Keeping your hair for your husband.

Throughout history married women covered their heads with caps. Amish women still do (also Menonite and Shaker women). It comes from the Old Testament where it is stated that a husband should be insulted if their wives did not cover their heads.


It is also my understanding that some orthodox Jews do the same, even to the point of owning wigs, so that their own hair is covered and that no one but their husband sees their hair.
