That Silverdale wouldn't be the Silverdale just north of Auckland, would it? If so, I go through Silverdale every time I travel from Pakuranga to Warkworth to visit my grandmother!!
But about that theory of yours that Kiwi accents are the ones everyone sings in.... can't say I agree with you there. Some singing voices are definitely American, and my ex-choir teacher says we all have to enunciate like English people, with our vowels and stuff. Try singing exactly like you speak- it sounds so awful!!:-)
