In my estimation, her social ideal transcends gender. In this sense, I would be more comfortable with labeling her a humanist (or an even an elitist) rather than a feminist.
I hadn't thought about it that way before, but I like think 'humanist' does probably fit better as it is a more all-encompassing term and probably one of the reasons that she was and still is so popular with both women and men alike.
