In response to Well, we certainly can't confuse Zed with bee, cee, dee,... , written by Deborah(MaMa) on April 18, 1998 at 00:33:12
every time I try to spell my street address (which is of Spanish origin) with a nice mix of c's and z's, the operator always thinks my z's are c's. Now if I could say "zed" without the operator going "huh?" it would be so much clearer and I would have to sound like I'm on Wheel of Fortune :)
('c' for cat, 'a' for apple, 'z' for zebra (which is pronounced "zebbra" back home, a short hard first syllable, rather than the open 'zee' sound in the U.S.)
Hmm, is there a limit to posting? this seems to be my third for the morning...
