Only if you first remind me of exactly what they were--it's been a while. They were either defense works or semaphore towers, I feel certain. . . but can't remember which (-:

My atlas is not handy, but seeing France from the Isle of Wight surprises me--what part of it? Cherbourg?

I don't recall being able to see Normandy from Jersey, but maybe one can. If so, add another spot to your catalogue (-:
