How to address someone?

Something I noticed in both P&P2 and S&S was what people called one another. For instance, spouses usually referred to each other as "Mr. X" and "Mrs. X", the eldest daughter as "Miss X", other daughters as "Miss Y", "Miss Z", and so on. Also, men were often addressed by only their last name by both men and women. However, in S&S, the Dashwoods often refer to Edward Ferrars as just "Edward", which seems a bit familiar. Could they call him by his given name because they were somewhat related? And would a wife or husband ever use the other's first name around company? It pains me a bit to think that Lizzy and Willie (or would he be Fitzy? :) ) would always call each other Mrs. and Mr. Darcy.

Just wondering.
