But together they would make quite an old fellow. ;-) Besides, neither of them had to be responsible for her alone.
Another thing occurred to me: what if this was done for Georgiana's protection? It would be a temptation to a brother in trouble to impose on his sister's fortune. Or he could have needed someone to judge differently in important cases like marriage etc.
