I know you're only being facetious with your last sentence, but I thought the excerpt was very interesting. Thing is, "a kiss is [not] still a kiss", i.e., I think the "greetings kiss" applies only tangentially to my question, it doesn't address the issue of a really sexy embrace. Your quote has changed my picture of casual greetings, and does lend some credence to your argument, I think. But I still feel that matters sexual would have been more private than what's portrayed in the movies.
