You're right about that. The only adaptation I've seen myself is S & S, which wasn't too bad. The real value of these different movies is that they bring people to read the books at all. The cheesiest adaptation is worthwhile if it accomplishes that. And who IS Colin Firth, anyway? Half the postings seem to be about that guy.
