(It is actually more logical for the last letter of the Alphabet to be pronounced "zee" and not "zed", for example.
Why??
We don't say "lee" for L or "mee" for M or "nee" for n, or "see" for s.
There's really no logic to alphabetical pronounciation (as I've discovered when I've tried to spell out things in German, French or Spanish)
And I won't even go into W.
