] Anyone know what quarter sessions at Taunton are and what is a London correspondent are?
<
Quarter sessions were (until 1960s) courts where suspects where tried for
offences too serious to handled by the Magistrates Court. Judges were on a "circuit" and visited towns quarterly.
A London correspendent wold today be called a newspaper reporter.
