To L and T indexI happen to know someone (ahem!) who fancies himself an expert in this field. I'll find out what the Persian call this "paisley." It's interesting how a great deal of our English words, especially food, derive directly from Farsi (Persian). Lemon and orange to name only two. The word for orange in Farsi is Norangi. Farsi is a Germanic language, just as English is.
