A&E P&P artifacts

In the 6 volume video A&E P&P, at Longbourne, on the main mantlepeice,
what are the doodads that look like black Japanese fan/masks??
And what are the standing objects on the floor nearby that look
like matchbox holders with a coat of arms shape? Could they be
screens that keep a hot fire from beaming at one's face, while
warming the rest of the person?
ps we had ducks named for characters. Mr. Darcy now heads the new
herd; Mr Bingley recently deceased; Lady C. was lost a while back
(both mysterious disappearances...)
