To L and T indexSeeing as how Mary Shelley has been brought up, I thought I might add that this gentleman was a very good friend of P. Shelley and was there when they cremated Shelley's body after he had drowned. There was some sort of quaranteen when necessitated the cremation rather than burial. Leigh Hunt was very bitter towards Mary Shelley because some twit who had been in love with P. Shelley had told many lies and half-truths to Hunt (and every other person who would listen) which left him to believe that Mary Shelley made P. Shelley's life inexcusably difficult at the end. This was soon cleared up, however. Mary Shelley had been feeling guilty of her treatment of P. Shelley but she had worshiped him. I would be a little cold too if I had lost three children in 2 years! Give the gal a break!
