I took a lot of your advice to heart and extend my gratitude. Since the library was devoid of any trace of the two books suggested, I bought them through Bookserve. :) One can never have too extensive a library.
As for my questions, I am still in a quandary about my character's horse's name; however, one Lord Bolingbroke had a horse named "Gimcrack" which George Stubbs painted quite a few times.
I also found a wonderful book that features the work of a contemporary of JA. Mrs Hurst Dancing and Other Scenes from Regency Life for those who are interested is a collection of watercolors by Diana Sperling, a young woman quite adept at the art. She portrays her family and life from 1812-1823. The 'snapshots' are wonderfully frank and honest, not to mention humorous. Unfortunately, I could not find this book through Bookserve.
The ISBN # is 0 575 03035 6
Thanks again for all your suggestions.
