] I am sorry if my question was misconstrued as a mere posting to glean information and then run. That was not my intent at all; I was sincerely asking for advice. Actually, I have been 'around' Pemberley since April of last year and have noted quite a few times people were 'working on a novel.' Whether or not they intended to have it published professionally, I never questioned it.Jenna, I really wasn't sure whether you were the Jenna who posted before. What threw me was the comment that we are all working on a novel. My response "Are you serious?" wasn't meant to be sarcastic....I really wanted to know! The fact is, as Leslie has pointed out, that we have been scammed before, and to have someone assume , in all seriousness, that we are set up to help novelists, when in actual fact we try hard not to give this impression, would mean that I would have to do a serious re-think of the image this board conveys.(and for the umpteenth time.....) In fact most of the writers in here, are writng fan-fic for the Derbyshire Writer's Guild, which is, in itself another facet of our obsession with Jane Austen and her stories.
You'll notice that I have no objection to your actual question. We are interested ourselves in this matter..in fact we once ran a competition to name all the horses and dogs in P&P2...I'll see if I can find the find the results for you. Meanwhile, if you go into the Guild, and Look at "Elizabeth's Tour of Pemberley" by our own, very prolific, Carolyn you will meet a delightful addition to the Pemberley household..a small puppy whose name fits Patricia 's criteria exactly, and who is so appealing that I really hope she'll devote whole story to him some day!
