I just read the question and responses about nursing during the Regency period and it brought to mind a question I have had for a while: did English people (maybe only women spoke of this subject?) of this period use the term "nurse" the baby? I once knew a mom from Scotland and she said "feed" the baby and never "nurse". Perhaps this is modern terminology or just that of her part of GB--does anyone know what Regency women would actually have said in regards to this domestic activity?
