Selling land

In the process of trying to understand entails, I thought about Bingley buying an estate and then looking for an eligible purhaser of it. If possessing land was so crucial, who would have wished to sell what they owned or been able to given the entail laws? Also, I read if someone was made a peer by Parl., he was given property so he could support himself in the expected style. Where did Parl. get the land?
