Sorry it took me so long, Caroline.
I have two books that I found particularly interesting on Georgian London. The first is appropriately titled:
_ A hundred years of Georgian London: from the accession of George I to the Heyday of the Regency_ by Douglas Hill; ISBN #: 8038 5365 3
It is mostly pictures with some text, but thoroughly entertaining.
The second (in which I found the information about the Frost Fairs [pg. 172]) is titled _London: A Social History_ by Roy Porter; ISBN #:0 674 53838 2 (hardcover).
It details the history of London from Elizabeth to Elizabeth--quite informative and has some interesting maps of everything from Tudor London to the Underground.
I hope that helps. If anyone has any must reads for me, I'd be thrilled to hear of them.
Thanks.
