To L and T index ] This is actually not a homework question. In one of my classes we were discussing similar questions about Bronte's "Jane Eyre," and I started thinking about how it might relate to Jane Austen's novels. I really only wanted to see what other people thought. Sorry I offended you.

No offence at all. I'm sure that you can understand that since we love Austen's work so much, we want to encourage students to experience her fully, and not rely on us for easy answers. We do get a lot of people looking for homework help around here, and sometimes get a bit jumpy about it. Sorry if I jumped to a false conclusion.
