The last one is easy to answer. By all means make reference to books like "History of Chocolate" if they are relevant to the discussion.However, the bibliography is a reading list to back up this page and its intentions, i.e. the examination of Jane Austen's life and works in relation to the times in which she lived."History of Chocolate", I would assume, is not devoted mainly to our time and place, so wouldn't make it into the bib.
I try to include in the bibliography references a brief description of the book , showing why it is relevant to the discussion board. I don't want it to be all my ideas, especially since I cannot read every book recommended, so I usually take the comments put on the board, or get the poster to provide a more complete review either here, or by e-mail. I've had a really busy six weeks in the real world , as it happens, and I have not been as vigilant as I might have in keeping the bib up to date.
Is that a bit clearer? I'll leave it up to individual posters to decide which books are really worth including and which are not, Okay?
