I've just been dying to share this book called Love in the Ancient World. by Christopher Miles with John Julius Norwich. Its a large hard-back (only $27.00 though) that looks at how the ancient civilizations regarded sex and sexuality before hedonism was curtailed by the icy kiss of organized religion, and before relations between the sexes were muddied by a prevailing sense of guilt. Its wild and I suspect Marie Bernadette will enjoy it very much! Because, during the Regency period, people were studying the ancients intensely, I thought this book would give me some insight should I wish to have a very smart (and eccentric) heroine in a romance someday!
