Saying services

According to the Book of Common Prayer (the official prayer book of the C. of E.), every minister is required to say Morning and Evening prayer in his church, or wherever he happens to be if he is away from his parish, every day. If he is in his parish, a bell is to be rung to signal the start of the service and anyone who wants can attend.
Of course, in practice during JA's time, many ministers didn't do this. But they were supposed to - I would bet that Edmund, Edward and Henry did, and Mr. Collins dropped it like a shot if Lady C. beckoned him to dinner...
